I picked up 1 of my first incomplete builds and noticed I had installed the bridge backwards, after turning it around the saddles are out of sorts. I purchased new saddles and screws but have run into a little nut on the saddle screw that doesn't seem to dismantle. Any ideas?20250507_170638.jpg20250507_170741.jpg

Can you get a little dremel cut-off wheel in there and just cut the head off ?

What is odd is the adjustment screws should face the stop tail, the saddles are installed backwards. The string should "ramp up" the angle machined into the saddle. However< I have seen many guitars that have mixed or reversed. I am not a huge stop tail feller so I really dunno.

Also are you talking about the little clip that holds the saddles in? I’m totally confused by this thread
In the 2nd photo you can see the end of the screw has a tiny nut, either glued on or riveted. Wonder if other may have done this before. Before I break it

I have taken some off before and I TENTATIVELY believe they were glued and a pain to put back on but it's been years.......

Gotoh often have nuts at the end of the saddle screws.

If you need to get one off, and it is stuck, spray some WD40 or similar penetrating lubricant on it, leave it for a minute or so and then remove the nut. If you don't have a suitable wrench, use a pair of pliers or similar for the nut and a screwdriver at the other end.

Also note that Gotoh's have metric threads, so if you have bought replacement saddles and screws, there is a chance they may be incompatible.

Alternative buy another Gotoh they are about $20.

Stabbed myself 3x so far, but finally found the right tool, that little bitty fits the stewmac nut drive. Unfortunately I already rounded one of the saddles (b) .... but forget all that, leave here learning (see picture)20250508_160132.jpg
