I've been following these on musicians friend. today i went to gibson.com to see the ones i missed, and look what i found.

comment on this, or pick the one you like, or hate and tell why.

they are currently up to week 48, so there are about 4800 limited edition gibsons on the market mines the purchased and the few gibson will keep for kicks and giggles.

The reverse V was argued to death (and beyond...) on the Les Paul Forum, so I'm not going there.

I'd like to see a reverse Firebird with 3 P90's like they did with the Explorer E-3 a few years back. THAT was a cool guitar.

I'm boring, my favorites in there were the really classic bursts on les pauls, and the nice classic solid black and solid white SGs

Yeah, the reverse V is just he dumbest thing I've ever witnessed in my time as a guitar junkie.  The SG's with three single coils and the rotary switch seemed interesting to me, but what the hell are those pickups?  Last I checked Gibson was not well remembered for their single coil pickups (P-90's notwithstanding), they might have done well to outsource on those!  I have also always like the SG basses, and that one in firebust looks pretty rockin.  The rest just leave me saying uhnn....

Looks like something that should be in CBs fireplace, by way of his poetry. strip any good hardware off first, or not....

ill tell u what i hate in the guitar of the week shity McShit shit.  is that gay ass silver burst that looks like a normal burst in a black and white photo... bastards!!

I think the reverse V is a low point in guitar design and perhaps an indication that Gibson are really running out of ideas!!! :dontknow:

i really dig that gibson is  being  somewhat  creative ,,,,

i really like this  http://www.gibson.com/en%2Dus/Divisions/Gibson%20USA/Guitar%20of%20the%20Week/Firebird%20Studio/
the only thing ia that it is preety expensive

i have been tempted to order this one atleast 10 times this week  http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Nashville-Jr-Doublecut-with-Western-PickGuard-Electric-Guitar?sku=515667

Should I take the plunge for it or should i make a warmoth version of it?....the only thing that I would add if i went the warmoth route is put a neck pickup on it ....

A Warmoth version naturally. It would be fairly cheap to do as well.

Reverse Flying V? Don't get me wrong I love Gibsons and I even plan on makin' my next Warmoth ax a Les Paul, but a Reverse Flying V? I guess that's how you know you're out of ideas.  :icon_scratch:

the beauty of the origonal v was cmpleate acess to all of the frets and of corse it looks badass, always will. i'm even one of those weirdos who likes to play one sitting down. (the cutaway goes around you leg)
this thing has none of the qualities of the original. and therefore sucks.
it's like gibson said lets pay respect to the best idea we ever had by making a mockery of it.

i regret selling v i had even if it was a plywood fake.

With ALL the models they could reprise for a 52 guitar series, they wound up doing that piece of shit? Many of the "Classic LP" models were never "Classics"...

It's not to my taste.  But I always welcome new ideas because the guitar world is in such a rut.  I do like the color a lot.

I wonder if Warmoth has plans for that style?
