Not really. Native speakers would be saying BREAK it, not BRAKE it. Written, brake is a spelling error as they most likely have no clue what a brake is to begin with. And when was the last time you heard anyone say they were going to "shear" their credit card?

I'd suggest telling him that would be "cut up" your credit card, but in his native language.  :icon_jokercolor:
