...I've ordered a Fender (style, but in no legal sense any association with FMIC :evil4:) P '54 style body and 1 piece Walnut neck with a Maple skunk stripe, from another UK based Guitar Build(er).

My name is amigarobbo, and I have a problem.  :turtle:

I've been looking at 1 piece walnut necks from a UK Guitar Build(er) too, so I'll be very interested to hear what you think. Stock item or are you having to wait for them to make it?

I wonder if I could do a work in progress on a non-Warmoth build?

I seriously did consider offering a CNC program to scallop arbitrary scale lengths in the machine a couple years ago when that stuff was still pretty fresh in my head. Hoping to get a neck or even a discount on one out of it. IIRC they were looking for a CNC operator at the time, and I'd recently been writing C++ code to generate G code.

*still have it, but no longer interested in a scalloped neck. But it did also do arbitrary compound radii. Just sayin.

I wonder if Warmoth is on the "indentured servitude" finance plan.

A Mustang neck with "my" specs (59 roundback, 1-11/16 nut) and it's made of Wenge with an ebony fingerboard! Quartersawn to boot! Now, how often do you see this? I have only been here for, what, two years? But I've never seen this.
Should I? Should I?

Tough call. You know if you don't buy it, they'll never make one again  :laughing7:

Exactly!

But then again, I haven't recieved the one you've sent me yet. And if I buy this I have to send that one as well to you and I'd also have to get a body to go with it and ...

Decisions, decisions ...

Don't forget that neck will also fit a Jaguar like an old shoe. If you don't have one of those yet...

I know ...

And then there's that "Jag Stang Done Right" template you have. We haven't talked about a potential project of that in the future.

Hmm, maybe a piece of roasted swampash ...
And then it's got to be painted  lemon yellow ...
Does yellow look good with wenge ...

Just thinking out loud here  :icon_jokercolor:

If it's what you really want, go for it! I let one body pass and had to wait months to see another like it. If this is the first you've seen, don't let it get away!  :evil4:

Just do it. There was a body in the showcase I ogled over until it went away. I still think about the thing.

A friend of mine once told me, "Never pass up a chance to start a new project. You can always finish them any time."

It IS cool. But that one is easier to pass by, since it has the "wrong" neck profile for me. I prefer the 59 roundback.

More yummies - the brazillian ebony necks look awesome. (And as someone else pointed out in another thread. NEVER google that at work).
