GAS Alert!!!!

Something like this?

The more I look at things, I'm getting good vibes from this, but as a 4+1 5 string.  Simpler than anything I've done to date.  Showcase neck, with a satin nitro finish.  I'd go with vintage, passive pickups and plain old pots (not active.)  (Ahh, who am I kidding.  I like active.)

That black one DOES look mighty nice. Love that look. Think of it this way, if you get a 5 string bass your amp will thank you. Because 5 string basses are gnarly.

Well, ebony on roasted maple here:

I had a rosewood/rosewood stored in my program.  I like this too.

It's fun to play.  I don't think we've nailed the neck for that body yet.

Keep the Ebony over Roasted, but put a quilted Maple veneer on the headstock and have it finished the same as the body.

Yeah, that would be the only way to fly.  The body kinda demands it.  Probably a pricey neck by the time it's done.  Have to go with either MOP or Arizona turquoise inlay.

This sounds like the hot ticket for it.

The MOP is a nice touch, too.

Although... maybe...  Dammit, the combination of GAS and a sale.  I'm not committed to anything, but I can dream, can't I?  And share it with you guys?

Man, that is sweet!
Think would look great with cream pickups, black bridge/tuners and maple neck...

Just saying...if you haven't checked the Guitar Bodies RSS Feed recently...There are some absolute bangers on there.

Very different seeing a Musiclander like that...

Some Bocote.

And some awesomely grained Mahogany...

If it wasn't routed for a vibrato, I would have bought that a couple of days ago. Alas, that seems to be the way with the Showcase and me; every body has one choice or feature that I don't like.

Yeah, I feel that.  Best not to gawk at all unless you want a body with a trem.

 Goodness gracious I wish I had the money. That with a Wilkinson and a Humboogler/Single in the neck. Or maybe a floyd for impracticality and infuriating string changes. What can I say? I'm a sucker for purple.

...oh dear. I'm not one for the LP errr Regal shape, but Padouk on Walnut? Color me starstruck. That with some BKP Mules would be one monstrously pretty thing. Oh, yeah... I guess you'd need a neck to go with it. Well shucks. There goes that pipe dream.

I really like that purple Soloist.

I'm fairly certain that Regal has been in the Showcase for AAGGGEES. Surprised no one has picked it up.

I dunno, I just really like the idea of the contrasting colors (Even accounting for the padouk changing color over time). Could make for an interesting looking guitar. As for the purple Soloist.... mmm. I just love a purple guitar.

I concur, I too like the contrasting colors. Contrasting wood colors really get me, I've often pondered doing a soloist with alternating woods like walnut and canary... :turtle:
