though I will say that at this point, I really am totally sick of the natural mask binding on almost everything with a figured top. good lord

I seriously love that body, and I can't imagine it without the natural mask binding. It adds definition and character, and on close inspection, an attention to detail and craftsmanship in the finish that you rarely see on any guitar these days that costs less than $4K.

Here's another one, but with curly instead of quilted maple...

I already snagged this one, though <grin>

I'm seriously wondering if they can do the masked binding after a red dye, but before a black burst over.

Yes they can.  :icon_thumright:

IDK.  I've seen that on showcase pieces but not in the order section.  Maybe a call and ask unless someone's ordered one like that.

Can't see where it would be a problem to do when requested. I'm sure it's on a call in basis. The only difference is at what point you mask off the natural binding, before or after the dyeing process.

Oh I didn't mean I didn't like it on that body. But I saw at least 5 or 6 others that it just did not work at all for me. and it seems like they're doing it on 90% of the stuff w/ trans/dyed finishes

The natural binding is getting a bit tired. Doesn't look bad, but most of those bodies would look just as good without, or  with actual real binding. Seems to be a popular feature though.

OH MY CRAPLETS

THIS.  on an iceman.

I would kill for.

Seriously. if Warmoth need someone offed. they need only build me this guitar, and I would.

Sorry to Double post. but Ubershall and Cageys pics didn't load until JUST NOW.

I had no idea it was even in the showcase!

OH MY CRAPLETS

that's the kind of guitar that I feel guilty routing for pickups. That thing needs to be somebody's next nylon string build

It's not unobtainable. $435 in the box, out the door. Chambered, too. It's only 3lbs. 13oz. That would make one superfine fiddle.

I agree. the fact that its a right handed Strat is the only thing saving my penniless sanity. If it was a lefty Iceman. I might actually die.

and a Piezo Bridge ONLY on that guitar, would be wonderful.

its...

just so pretty.

its half of why I'd be willing to do a single pickup/knob on the body I want. with the least obtrusive bridge I can get.

just so all that Warmoth Quilt maple can be seen!

Ummm, I'm not GASsing, but...

Don't really care for the LTD SG copy's, but I was at a local guitar shop today and played a '62 SG. Has a single dog ear P90, was really impressed, the neck is quite huge tho, compared to some later SG's that I've played. And the owner had f'ed up the finish on it, it looks absolutely retched.... :sad1:

I have been having GAS problems since I saw this bass body on Showcase...... Nice Bubinga top. Can just imagine this thing thumping away with a MM pickup and some actives to push things along!
