GAS Alert!!!!

You can be older, from texas, and still rock any type of guitar you desire.

Actually, the Korina V's & Explorers are among my favorite 'non-traditional' shapes, and although I can appreciate that Iceman, it's not something I'd choose for myself.

Don't encourage him, fer crissakes! He's already got enough Floyds to start his own business!  :laughing7:

OK ... your right   of cause there is no age limit for any style / shape of guitar.

But, personally ... I just don't like that shape  :tard:  (that's what I was saying)
So ya won't see one in my collection  :icon_biggrin:

but you won't see any neon pink....Not gonna do it...
Now that, I can agree on.
+1000  :icon_thumright:

I find Paul Gilbert's "Fireman" design kind of intriguing, but I don't really know that it'd balance any better one way or the other; I'm sure you could coax the same sounds out of an S-S-S Iceman...

Don't worry you guys, your not alone  :icon_biggrin:
I was trying to work out if it was a lefty or a righty  :icon_jokercolor:
Not my cuppa either. All thou the black binding is pretty sharp on that thing.

You just wait Doug, till you get older and have to start wearing glasses too ......  :toothy11:
I've been wearing glasses and contacts all my life. I'm near sighted, no need for readers..But I agree with drewfx, didn't know body styles had age limits, they don't to me.. :icon_biggrin:
Just wait a little while... Speaking from experience (nearsighted and wearing glasses since age 4), you will get to where you need a pair for distance, a 2nd pair for short distances (i.e. computer), and will take them all off for reading (with book right in front of your face of course.)! At that point neon pink comes back in style so you can find the damn thing, or at least graffiti yellow!  :laughing7:
Hey Updown, you aren't nearsighted by any chance are ya?  :toothy12:

Yeah, I'm a three-ranger now. Long distance is one correction, short distance is another, and up close is no correction. Luckily, the style now is to wear small lenses, so it's easy enough to look over the top of them.

It's bound to balance better just for the reversed addition of an upper horn.  But, his Fireman isn't simply a reverse Iceman.  It has a lower cutaway.

:icon_scratch:  Gee I really gotta be careful of what I say around here.

:dontknow:  Everytime I mention Pink ..... I get shot down !! ..... and don't even mention the word Glasses  :icon_biggrin:

BTW ... I DO need my (+1's) reading glasses  :glasses9:  as my arms just aren't long enough.  :laughing7:
In other words, YES needed for short sighted
That ONLY happened when I got to 50yo, usually happens to most people around the 40-45 mark. (hence my earlier remark to Dougie)

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone whom has glasses or needs them at some point.

Better add the words, Pink and Glasses on to that filter list  :icon_jokercolor:

This is rather nice ....  :icon_thumright:

I'm afraid I've aged out of that body style as well. But, it is a fine piece of work.

Not me! If I had the money, I'd snap that right up! But then, I'm a sucker for most of the less-popular body styles, and that is one sexy Iceman.

Fair point re: the balance, and aye re: the cutaway - I reckon that'd be reasonably simple to achieve with some routing/spindle sanding experience, but the Fireman is "only" a $900 guitar, so it'd require a pretty specific set of...specs...to justify the effort to mod a W body.

I was amused watching a Gilbert's Get Out of My Yard video how many famous body shapes he has an Ibanez version of - basically everything the word filter will alter.

If I were too old for a body style, it would be that Synester Gates Schecter thing.  The Iceman body shape is older than me.

I caught flak once for suggesting the Warwick basses were too modern, then I was shown a Jack Bruce post Cream pic.

I wish I could justify one of the Jack Bruce Survivor signature Warwick, but $8,549.99 is a little out of my price range...
