GAS Alert!!!!

Black binding would get lost, visually, amid the brown burst. 


I think higher contrast (ivoroid or cream, not white) would look better.  Alternatively, the natural masked "binding" would also look nice, and would not be quite as contrast-y as the plastic binding.

Not a big fan of the natural masked binding..  Just a personal opinion.

If you are thinking carved-top, you have no choice but the rear rout.  Also, I find the upper bout switch location (like a Les Paul) very comfy and I rarely find myself hung up on the switch while strumming.  Check out Quty Pie for a variation on the carved-top Tele them.
 
Ah, so the upper bout switch is a no-go.  Even so, if you have a nifty figured top, I think the rear-rout is the right way to go.

The coco neck I was jonesing for got snapped up.  But I've bailed out on the ash tele body I've been slaving over for the last year and this is the replacement for it.  It will go with this neck:

That's a fine piece of work, and will complement that Tele nicely.

I concur.  This was a miracle of.timing.  I was fixing to.order a double bound telecaster bod this weekend but warmoth seems to have heard me coming.

And here I was thinking that they got it RIGHT by making that SG body with the Strat-style hardtail bridge - thus affording relief from the drawbacks of the TOM/tailpiece layout.


But it's so unusual that I would guess it's a return of a custom order, or something - hardly seems like the sort of thing they'd throw on the showcase just because they felt like trying something new.


In any case, Marty, you and I differ on that one - and that's what makes horse races.


Separately, I was also pretty knocked out by that goncalo top - it DOES look like mis-labeld cocobolo.  Purty swanky.
