Flamed Swamp Ash Tele! Warning: Lots of Pictures

so i've wanted a tele for a while, but had no idea exactly what i wanted. when i saw this in the showcase i knew instantly! unfortunately i won't be allowed to touch it until christmas, but i think it'll be worth the wait!

my crappy camera and crappy lighting don't show how orange it really is. my pictures make it look like it's honey burst, but it's warmoth's tequila sunrise burst. VERY cool. perfect for an orange color lover like myself.

i love it! my plan is to put in a Dimarzio Hot Area T bridge and Area T neck pickup. i've also got a Dimarzio Virtual Solo pickup i want to use in the middle. my initial plan was to hide a pickup underneath the pickguard, but that didn't work out. so i've got the wrong pickguard :-\ so PM me if you want a black tele pickguard. i'll sell it cheap! i'm also not sure if i want a black pickguard or pearloid. too bad this is one of the VERY few things warmoth had showcase pictures of without a pearloid pickguard on it, but i'll figure it out. i'll probably order one of each and i can change it out later if i want. anyway enough rambling! i'm going to go wish i had a neck and pickups now...

I'd put a parchment pearloid pickguard on there + black pickup covers. I have a strat with somewhat similar colorscheme and that setup.. looks great imo =)

thanks guys! sorry bagman :-\ if it makes you feel any better it's been my laptop's wallpaper for 2 weeks, and i even changed the wallpaper on my mom's computer to the showcase picture so that she had to stare at it everyday too :icon_biggrin:

that vintage pearl does look really good... not sure yet! one thing i like about teles is that you don't have to remove all the electronics to change a pickguard, so it might get a makeover once i change the strings the first time or something. the pickups would still mount to the pickguard, but it's still not as bad as my tele deluxe's pickguard is to work on. plus with the deluxe i have to take the whole neck off, too.

and my first thought was flame maple, but the more i think about it the more i like birdseye! i think it would need a good heavily figured birdseye neck though, and i don't know if i'd want to shell out the crazy money for one of those. guess we'll see though! i really don't have any definite plans for this thing yet. but no matter what i think this body is one hell of a start to a project

there's actually quite a few good looking BE maples that are under $290....I kinda think goncalo would work with it too... :dontknow:

Good call with the extra pickup routing too.  Way to think ahead.  When using a pickguard, it's always better to have more options than what you're using at the moment.

thanks :icon_biggrin: i thought about a humbucker in the neck, but figure i'd probably prefer a mini hum anyway, and this way i have the room for that or a p-90. or singlecoils, obviously.

already posted this in another section, but thought i would post here too. i think it'll look great with this body! i'm more a fan of maple aesthetically, but i've never had a rosewood fretboard that i disliked. i'm excited! the only feature i'm not sold on is 21 frets instead of 22, but i think i'll be alright! brazilian rosewood, quartersawn maple, 1 5/8" nut, 6150 frets. it's kind of funny that i ended up with quartersawn maple since i think the stability of quartersawn over regular is kind of bunk. also think that indian rosewood is honestly just as nice as brazilian. but this neck was the right price! so i can't complain. i do think quartersawn maple looks really cool :icon_biggrin:

and i think this might settle the pickguard dilemma. i think pearloid might be a little too busy for the rosewood neck, so i think black is the way to go.
