and i think this might settle the pickguard dilemma. i think pearloid might be a little too busy for the rosewood neck, so i think black is the way to go.


+1 for pearloid being too busy in this situation. I'd think long and hard about the goncalo, though. it looks pretty darn killer in that pic!

and i'm definitely decided on black! i think pearloid would look good if this were a plain ash top, but since it looks like flame or quilted maple i think it would be way too busy.

I changed mine a little on my strat, I put the tone controls on the bridge and middle instead of the neck and middle

well, my plan is to go with the normal tele wiring for the bridge and neck, and a separate volume for the middle pickup. the middle isn't going to balance very well with the other 2 pickups, so i think an independent volume will let me balance it out.

haha well at first i wanted to make a big order with rutters. i really liked his hot-rodded bridge (can't remember what he called it), but i decided since i was so worried about intonation i should just get a 6 saddle bridge, so no big rutters order for me
