Firebird Necks!

Alllllll these new necks suddenly are making me feel like I should spend the money I've saved up for a new amp on a neck for a special new firebird I plan to begin building once I get my shop up and running.  :laughing7: Does anyone else plan on spending some cash and grabbing up any of these?

All them have the headstock pointing the wrong direction, which is odd because when it's turned the proper way the headstock looks like a bird head... a firebird perhaps.

This one is exactly what I had in mind for a project I've been mulling over for a long time:

Too bad I don't have $650 to cough up...

If they turned the headstock around, maybe  :dontknow:

Like this? https://www.dropbox.com/s/yuvr0pehlunwhuj/IMG_0077.JPG? I just built this over the summer. I ordered it as a regular reverse, but they messed up and built the neck backwards. It was wait 6 weeks or take a good discount. I took the discount.

Mahogany body and neck, pau ferro fingerboard, Lollar FB pups for neck and bridge, standard gibson wiring, steinberger tuners. Put about $2000 into it total.

Nice piece. Good job. I like that headstock orientation better.

I wonder if Warmoth ever fixed the pothole locations on those bodies?

Yeah my local shop guy had to file those down when he was doing the wiring for it. My skills in soldering and handling wire routing through such a small cavity are pretty lackluster.

He ended up doing a great job on them, and you can only notice if you closely compare the unground knobs to the ground ones. I'm not sure whether they've fixed them. I meant to email Robert @ Warmoth to give him the dimensions for these knobs. I'll see about measuring them when i get home.

My Firebird GAS was settled pretty much forever with this.  :glasses10:

I had them do a superwide 1 7/8" neck, Fatback profile with a Firebird headstock.  Most comfortable neck I've ever owned so far.  I might someday build a reverse Firebird, but more likely a true RD copy with an LP headstock.

That's assuming G*bs*n's legal team stops Warmoth from making LP headstocks...  :(
