Enjoy!

The Vibro-King looks pretty cool but for that kind of change I would be looking to invest in a vintage Vibroverb or Blond Twin.

The Pawnshop Supersonic is very nice except Im not sure about the colour. Give me reversed F headstock and angled buckers all day :)

The Supersonic is an interesting bit of irony.  One of the main reasons the Firebird is oriented the way it is is Fender gave Gibson crap about the original shape (now referred to as "non-reversed") being too similar to the Jazzmaster, and now Fender is making a Firebird knock off.

That's "MSRP", actual selling price likely to be $3000-3500, but still I's agree that kind of money better spent on a clean refurbed vintage Blackface...

Also telling that the Surf Green monstrosity has "GTR Input, MIC Input, ACCORDION Input"...

There are some killer deals on vintage Blackface Super Reverbs right now going anywhere from $1400.00 to $2800.00 depending on how clean and original they are.

The smaller combos like Blackface Vibrolux, Deluxe and Princeton's are still commanding top dollar but they are less  than the $3000-$3500.00 price that Jack is right on target with.

Its the super rare stuff that goes real high like this baby. I get weak in the knees looking at that thing, and extremely light headed when I see the price tag and the number of bids it has gotten already.

Ya know, it never even hit me until you mentioned it that the firebird is a left handed jazzmaster. Duh it's so obvious now.

The 70s Strat is actually a very, very slight re-working of a model that Fender's Japanese divison made for a few years, I think it was '01-'05. The MIJ one had the carved heel that American Deluxe/Jeff Beck/Sambora/Jim Root guitars have, a rosewood fretboard, a thin C-shape neck, a 6-screw Strat vibrato with modern string spacing and the controls in the usual Thinline order. It was routed for a humbucker at the neck, too, no idea if this new one is.

Really interested to see if it's MIM, MIJ or MIA, and how much it will cost. It's been my favourite guitar design since I first saw it six or seven years ago, and it guts me that I've not been able to buy one so far; original ones are rarely put up for sale, unless they are damaged. USACG offer the body style as a standard option, but as I'm in the UK it's awkward to order from them. I've been planning on getting a rear-rout Warmoth Strat body and a Thinline pickguard and hacking the two together, and I would have pulled the trigger on that order at the start of next month, if this hadn't have been announced.

As it is, I know I will be buying one of these in every colour. Love the move to hardtail—I can't stand vibratos—and I love the U-shape neck that it uses, I played a Thinline Deluxe with the U-neck and to my hands it was the most comfortable neck any company has ever made. Probably slap a 24.75", 12" radius conversion neck on at least one of them, though, as I do prefer Gibson-scale and fretboard feel.

Only problem for me is Schecter have also announced a new 7-string that I want, my amp's just crapped out on me and needs replacing and on top of all that, this year I'm meant to be travelling around. Gonna be a real expensive 12 months! :icon_biggrin:

Fender and Gibson could fight all day. "It was my idea first!" "That's my Headstock!" "My zebra Pickups!"

:dontknow:

Meanwhile Dimarzio somehow says "Double cream pickups are OURS!" and the world listens.

My good. That's some ugly guitars.  :redflag:
Second.  The Bass VI isn't terrible, looks like the only mod is the p90 in the bridge.

Except for all the companies that make double-cream pickups. Seymour Duncan, Fender and Gibson are the only ones I haven't seen do it, and they all offer other double 'aged white' or parchment pickups that are basically the same.

DiMarzio has cornered the double cream pickup, atleast calling them that.  Ivory, off white, aged white, yeah, it's semantics.

as a VK owner I can say they definitely aren't worth 3,500.  But they have no relative resale value so i got mine for 1,200 or so, definitely worth that much!  Cool amp.

The Bass VI has me intrigued
