- Warmoth Metal Decal in Black
- 3-Way Toggle Switch, Straight in Black

And a black-red-black pickguard blank, which might be part of some experiments...

What did I not order at Warmoth? Let's take a look:

Alright, there's some shielding kit, a bunch of wires, 3× 500k log push-push pots, a black Electro Socket, a black Gotoh wrench holder, some black screws, mounting rings and:
- Rockinger Alnico II Custom Neck HB
- Rockinger Destroyer Bridge HB
- brand new Schaller M6 Back-Lock in Black
- Schaller Sure Claw
And this is were I actually like that Warmoth sells their Floyds without Nuts:
- R3 nut with 12" radius, ordered directly from Schaller.

I also have some knobs, but I keep those a secret until it's finished!

Also, I think the M6 are actually in Schallers new black finish, while the R3 nut is slightly darker and less... shiny... but that doesn't bother me at all. I think it'll add depth and sparkle... you'll see!

"But why the Sure Claw?", you might ask, "It'll only add weight and Warmoth drills for the standard, perfectly good, normal spring claws, you fool!", you might add. "YOU FOOL!"

Yes, I know. I have my reasons. Actually, it's just one:
I want to play in D-standard and drop-C on the same guitar, with a free floating vibrato.

My purpleheart guitar has a sure claw and with that it's very easy to adjust the spring tension to the dropped string. It's so easy I even do it live on stage between Songs!

Yes, a D-Tuna is much faster and a more elegant solution, but it limits you to dive only.

I expect the Warmoth order to arrive in May, I'll keep you posted... or keep posting? You'll see!

This guitar is gonna look killer! I always wanted to try the Sure Claw, maybe I'll add it to my new build.

By the way I did a nice upgrade on the Floyd Rose on my latest guitar. I got the Red Bishop push-in arm. Expensive but, such a high quality part, love it.

I love push-in arms, got the Floyd Rose one on two guitars. I will look into that.

I originally only got it, because drilling the holes for the standard claw into purpleheart gave me nightmares. 😅

But the above mentioned functionality to quick-adjust the tension to drop tunings is such a cool feature in my opinion.

I understand the sureclaw, how do you quickly go between drop c and d standard? Do you have so many “turns” memorized and then unlock, tune down and relock?

Yeah like that; on the purpleheart, if I lower the tension with two full turns counter-clockwise and tune the lowest string to C, the guitar is about 99% in tune again. The same thing works in the other direction as well.

And I know the range of the finetuners on a Floyd was chosen to allow for droptuning and already tested that, so I won't even have to unlock/lock.

That’s really cool! It really is like a D-Tuna only using the fine tuner instead of the lever.

It’s well known you never ask…

…a woman her age
…a man his salary
…Hodgo if he finished his projects
I will keep that in mind. However...
I think it would be even cooler to build a Fireman
I wonder if they could do a reverse iceman like Ibanez / Paul Gilbert?
... the interest in this topic shown in this thread alone is kinda remarkable and even a little comedic. And I would love to see it finished as well! 🙂
