I'm just 5 weeks into the long wait for my Iceman body and Nomad neck, but yesterday I received the last piece of all the parts for this build that I didn't order at Warmoth: Perfect time to start a Build in Progress thread!

What did I not order at Warmoth? Let's take a look:


Alright, there's some shielding kit, a bunch of wires, 3× 500k log push-push pots, a black Electro Socket, a black Gotoh wrench holder, some black screws, mounting rings and:
- Rockinger Alnico II Custom Neck HB
- Rockinger Destroyer Bridge HB
- brand new Schaller M6 Back-Lock in Black
- Schaller Sure Claw
And this is were I actually like that Warmoth sells their Floyds without Nuts:
- R3 nut with 12" radius, ordered directly from Schaller.

I also have some knobs, but I keep those a secret until it's finished!

Also, I think the M6 are actually in Schallers new black finish, while the R3 nut is slightly darker and less... shiny... but that doesn't bother me at all. I think it'll add depth and sparkle... you'll see!

"But why the Sure Claw?", you might ask, "It'll only add weight and Warmoth drills for the standard, perfectly good, normal spring claws, you fool!", you might add. "YOU FOOL!"

Yes, I know. I have my reasons. Actually, it's just one:
I want to play in D-standard and drop-C on the same guitar, with a free floating vibrato.

My purpleheart guitar has a sure claw and with that it's very easy to adjust the spring tension to the dropped string. It's so easy I even do it live on stage between Songs!

Yes, a D-Tuna is much faster and a more elegant solution, but it limits you to dive only.
