Actually, no. It's all cut the same depth, it's the reflection of light off the cut lines that gives it the 3D effect...Johnny said:DangerousR6 said:Som moa... :blob7:

This looks awesome. There's a 3d effect to it because the edges were cut deeper than the center. Nice work!!! Now if I want a similar effect for mine, how would I specify that. I have to wait on my better half to draw the image I want, but the drawing would only be 2 dimensional. However, getting the 3d effect would be really nice. Note that my better half paints nudes, so what I'm going for is a neck plate based on one of her paintings.
I'll have to investigate that one, looks interesting. Looks like they are taking some impact printing ques and bringing it to the realm of CNC.. :icon_thumright:Bagman67 said:Hey, Doug - I ran across this today on the Boing Boing feed in my RSS, and was wondering if it was something you could integrate in your CNC toolkit:

:icon_biggrin:, I know, kinda messes with the eyes a bit.. The closer the step over amount of the tool, the more of the 3D look it gets. But if you got something in mind, I'll see what I can do... :icon_thumright:Johnny said:DangerousR6 said:Actually, no. Doh! You've stated that before. Sorry, my memory is going, but it just looks like its cut deeper on the edges.
I know that feeling. I've the same problem, except substitute gold for black (for my Black VIP)Last Triumph said:I need to order my neck plate and truss rod cover but for the life of me I can;t think what to to put on it or what to call my guitar.
I know it will need to me gold on the surface with a machined text and or design, but I'm just lost.
