Custom Laminated body.

:headbanging:
Nope, we discussed that and decided it would cover up too much of the art work.
So no, no pick guard on this build.

Hi guys!!
Keeping you guys posted. The body is still in CNC SHOP.  Doug said it is acclimating to his shop . It will go into cutting next Wednesday.  Then I comes back to me for finish.  Once finished with Teak Oil.

:headbanging:
Once the Teak oil finish is done, then it goes back to Doug for final assembly with Floyd Rose tremolo, Humbucker pickups and tuning. And top it off with a custom leather patriotic shoulder strap.
    Talk to y'all soon.

Been two weeks.. Need my "Custom Laminated body" fix.. lol

How's it coming along?

Me too, very curious to see how that one turns out!
The suspense is killing me... I'd be pulling my hair out if I had some :laughing7:

Anyone besides me see any air gaps in the laminations?  I know you're a cabinet maker, and I know gaps can be filled, and it could just be my eyes getting tricked out by the overwhelming amount of colors and lines, but what I see would make me nervous.

Also, it would have been really handy if you'd had a strat body that you could lay on top of your work just to get a sense of where everything is going to be.

Yes. Me and Doug are aware of small gaps. He also has all the cavities for the Humbucker pickups figured out.
I trust him 100%.

Hi guys,
Talked with Doug today.  It is going to be a while till she is done. I commissioned him to put the finish on it . It is way too humid in my shop to apply finish then put back in his shop for assembly.
I told him not to rush. I want it to be right and look good when it is done.
    I will keep everyone posted.
    Thanks Jeff.

Unfortunately,  I do not have access to Doug's shop. So we will have to be patient for the final product.  Sorry. I trust Doug 100%.
The one thing we did opt to do is get rid of the middle Humbucker.  He said it will have plenty of time with two Humbucker pickups.  Besides I have studied photos if Eddie playing quite a few guitars with just two pickups.
      Keep ya posted!!!

Here is a rundown of what is going to happen:
            -    Body getting cut on CNC
            -    body sanded and Teak oil
                  Finish applied
            -    final assembly  with Floyd Rose
                  Tremolo and Humbucker
                  Pickups.
            -    Padauk Neck by Warmoth.
  Thanks for being patient.

Thanks Rick!!
Thanks everybody for all the good comments.  And advice. I am lucky man, we have a youth director at church who is killer on a stratocaster.  He owns one as well.  So he is going to teach some stuff on my strat when it is done.
Promise,  if Doug sends email pics I will send on to the group.
    Thanks Jeff.
