contemplating about new warmoth les paul

well, everything's sorted out I believe! We decided (well, I did) on singlepiece back. already ordered the pickups aswell. very curious to see how it will turn out!

Multilam backs are one of the LEAST desirable Gibson features.  But I think this is mostly because the "pancake" bodies came from the Norlin era and people don't like the Norlins... it's not because a multilam back is better or worse.

Personally I like one-piece backs....

I know, but if you're a bit into an alembic-guitars, you'll love multi lam backs, haha. at least, vertical, not horizontal! as it was quoted at first, it would be 5 piece horizontal, not vertical: not my cup 'o tea!

@markoooo: I ended up with: exactly the same :) purpleheart top on rosewood back, but a 2 piece back. I really would've digged a singlepiece, but that would be as expensive as the entire guitar; kinda overboard huh? this is the best compromis between looks/esthetics, tone and my wallet :D the neck remained the same, but with an ebony overlay.

Ahh, I think I missed the part where you decided on the woods..

But hey! Rosewood is what I suggested in the 1st or 2nd response to your original post.. and see your reply... hehehehehe... :laughing7: :icon_tongue:

Rosewood as back is not what i want. I need a hard wood for the back and a softer one on top.

that sentiment still stands. but the 'love' for nice woods was stronger than any other sentiment, haha.
