Dreaming of Builds

I haven't even started my new build yet (Delivering today !), and already thinking of future builds. I recently picked up a Gretsch Duo Jet for a great price in a beautiful 'Tahitian Coral'. Similar to Fender's vintage Fiesta Red from the 56 Thunderbird. I really fell in love with the color and have also always loved Surf Green, so since I just got my paint booth and spray gun setup, I thought it would be cool to build all of my favorite Fender vintage colors. Strat, Jazzmaster, Tele....... In Surf Green, Daphne Blue, Shell Pink and a yellow I haven't identified yet. Of course the Meadowhawk is next up, but after that......

Cool concept! I've always thought that the Daphne Blue / White is the Ultimate car colour ( looks particularly nice on a 56 Chevy...)

I'm with ya on that one, very cool look. Would do a white pickguard, pickup covers and knobs instead of parchment I think on that one.
Maybe on a Jazzmaster or Jaguar.....

I told my wife, whenever we move to our next house we're painting all the rooms classic Fender colors. Seafoam Green, Shell Pink, Sonic Blue, Capri Orange. I was kidding but not really.
LOL, that would actually be very cool !! Probably not doable though......

Well since my Surf Green turned out great, for my second guitar in the 'Vintage Fender Colors Inspired by Cars' series, I'm thinking about a Jaguar in Daphne Blue. I know - I'm still in the middle of my Meadowhawk build, but might as well get stuff on order for the next one. I was going back and forth between Jazzmaster and Jaguar, but I thought it would be cool to try a 24" scale since I never have.

The wiring alone on these things should make for an interesting build, but I have absolutely no experience with them. I'll probably do an Alder body with no lam top since it will be painted a solid color. Maple neck with Rosewood Fretboard and paint the headstock to match.

Any advice, tips or tricks would be appreciated. Best pickups, switches, etc.....

Thanks.
