Flame Koa top, black binding (fromt AND back), chambered black korina back, black Floyd, 2 hums( maybe a single in the middle ). Wenge neck, ebony board, no inlays, smoked chrome Warmoth metal decal, black tuners.  :icon_biggrin:

not so shabby at all bro! but no floyd, kahler. and black binding... if I've got money to spare, maybe ;) Its too dark for me, and I dont want two necks with the same backwood. I already have wenge, but COOL idea.
Righto then, kahler, white binging and a purpleheart, or canary back of the neck. Still sounds Rawk!

purpleheart....well, sounds cool, looks cool, but the color is purple you know....that clashes a bit with the rest of the axe.
Well, it does if you get a bright pinkish/redish color, but if you get a more browney orangey color, it'll be cool. But canary is a nice contrast to the rest, and I've heard that it feels slick.

Orpheo,

Given your stellar collection of LPs, I think it would be completely different for you to build a plain LP.  Maghony/spuce body with enhanced grain filler finished in Bengal Burst.  All Pau Ferro neck with warmoth peg head.  Single Celtic Cross inlay at 12th fret.  Chrome hardware with zebra pickups.

This LP would really stand out in your collection.

Just my thoughts....

Spruce?  That would certainly change it up.  I'd be curious to see that.

That does sound pretty interesting, but I don't think they will make an angled peghead type neck from Pau Ferro, something about the integrity of the scarf joint. There's several of the exotic woods that they won't make in the angled style because those woods won't glue to themselves.

Spray it black or auto primer :laughing7:

(I will now go back under my rock till I'm need again.) :occasion14:

yep indeed. and I already have a pau ferro neck'd les paul (and bocote too).

spruce is 'ok', but not really that 'WOW" factor.

To me, a Korina (LP) Body, Korina Top, Tobacco Burst and natural binding has a WOWFuckin'ell factor.
But since you want a different wood as top, that is probably not an option.

That's odd, because at one time I was going to order a rev Jackson style out of all ziricote or all pau and was told that angled headstocks couldn't be done with either of those woods.... :icon_scratch:

how about this?

Brian

no, not a good idea. had a guitar like that once, but I didn't give it a lot of playtime. I love the carved top/3 humbucker look, and this just is a major, huge departure from my likings. I know that this would be a waste of money.

my newest idea:

walnut back, koa top, lacewood back on the walnut, with maple spacers in between, no bindings.

Wow... I am very curious to see a mock up of this madness you are thinking of getting done.  I can't even picture it, but it sounds cool.

Orpheo has got the hook-up, don't worry.  Even if Warmoth won't he can get it done

I got official word that a lamback will be done, but WITHOUT the contoured heel, which I don't mind, cause my hand never reaches or touches that piece of wood anyway.

a mockup will come later. this guitar will be a tribute to my first Koa les paul, which is a tribute to my first warmoth, which is a tribute to my first LP 3 pickup custom  :cool01: :party07:
