im having trouble choosing for this

Hey! Glad to see somebody else is an explorer fan. I got my 1st warmoth build all planned out, an explorer, of course. I choose black for mine. For some reason, the only colors i find appealing on an explorer body are black and white.
 
I voted White or Trans. Amber, but considering it's an Alder body, why bother with transparent finishes?  The grain does look fairly nice and original Explorers had transparent finishes on their Korina bodies.  But, I would stick to a solid finish on an Alder body and save transparent finishes for Ash or other highly figured woods.  That's just me.

Honestly, when I build a Warmoth Explorer, it will be Sea Foam Green or one of the large flake colors.  I like the flash of an Explorer and consider the traditional finishes boring.  Your mileage may vary...

seafoam... now theres a thought! thats pretty cool. but did u see the grain on the explorer i wanted in the showcase?
