Clear paint from holes

I just completed the paint on my build.  Now I need to clean some paint out of the holes to install the post inserts for a wilkinson bridge. Any suggestions on the best way to do that?

I am thinking an appropriate sized drill bit, turned by fingers would be my best option with some painters tape over the holed to help keep the paint from chopping

Don't use a drill bit - it will catch on the paint and give you a big old chip.  The best way is sandpaper wrapped around a dowel.

I like that. It would certainly be less risky than a drill bit as you suggest. Thanks!
