I have no idea how to record anything - I don't have the equipment nor any software to make mp3 files.  Any primers and ideas on how to do that on the cheap?

Yes, get "Audacity". It's a great freeware program. It works really well and is easy to use. IIRC you need to get the MP3 export plugin separately, it's free too!

Go Here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If you have something like a Line 6 Box or some sort of guitar/computer interface you can record directly into Audacity. You can also use a mic plugged directly into your sound card, not a crisp but works too.

I don't know yet - I hope to work on it a bit tonight.  I'll be sure to give a full report.

Thanks for the Audacity link Ken - it looks pretty powerful.  I scoured the forum for different ideas and am trying to figure out what might work best.  Hannaugh has something called a Tascam and apparently some amps like the Line6 Spider can record and have built in jam tracks and FX.  I just have to figure out where I can get the most recording bang for the buck...

If you want to do it cheap and don't have prejudices about modeling software, there's a free, stripped-down version of Amplitube that just got released. I haven't tried it yet but it's held in pretty high esteem AFAIK. I think there's a free version of Guitar Rig 4 as well.

I like the guitar! More LPs!

Very nice guitar, i like the neck especially!

I use Line6 UX2 with my computer and Ableton Live8 Lite comes free with it, as well as Sonoma Riffworks.

Both are pretty decent recording programs and you can upgrade to full version for a reduced price, however lite versions are quite comprehensive and will do the trick.

I can't abide glossed wenge, but I approve the overall deal. Because you crave my opinion so desperately.

Sorry my craving was so apparent.  :icon_jokercolor:

It's stunning in person really - not something I thought I would like either until I saw it.
