Burny = Good Alternative?

It's a shame I bought a Charvel the other day, this one would've been mine: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ESP-EDWARDS-E-LP-92-SD-Cherry-Sunburst-Duncan-PU-NEW_W0QQitemZ150396011050QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item23044d022a

Anyway to scratch off the headstock decal on these thing to put a Gibson one instead :icon_biggrin: ?

on another forum i frequent people swear by tokai and edwards (especially tokai). just a few others to look out for if they haven't been mentioned yet!

I believe Tokai was one of the makers of the Japanese Jacksons....

This is pretty cool...... :headbang1:

A division of ESP. Quality and build in between ESP (high end) and LTD (low end).  :icon_thumright:
Most of them come stock with SD pups, and no not the SD Designed, but the real deal pups.

Thanks for the suggestion, would you say that those are better than Epiphones? I'm not much of a ESP/LTD guy so I don't really know about the quality.

I think I would go the LTD route before I went with Epiphone, Tokai, Burny etc...

With the Burny and the Edwards, those would be very hard to get in the U.S.  Those are Ibanez lawsuit dead ringers.  Like the Tokai, if you didn't notice the Burny or the Edwards on the headstock, you wouldn't know it wasn't a Gibby.  Same body foot print and headstock shape, unlike the Rondo.  ESP does Strat headstocked guitars in Japan, but not in the U.S.

My friend Wayne (RedMcmannus - part time poster on here) has a Edwards Lemon Drop Les Paul and it's a beauty.
Looks great, plays great, stays in tune well. Pups were SD JB and Jazz although he's now swapped them for BareKnuckles.

Well worth considering. Before the Edwards he had two Orville LPs. Also good guitars.

I've played a few Burnys and Grecos at a place here in Sweden that do their own importing of second hand instruments. Very good guitars! They will be high on my list when I buy my next guitar.

I've just sold a Burny Les Paul - the RLC-60S with sustainer. I have had at least 6 other Fernandes guitars. All but their budget lines are a very good quality. I would choose them over Gibson any day. Ishibashi web shop is worth a try. The guy who bought my Burny has bought another Burny Gold Top from Ishibashi recently.

I bought an Edwards LP last year and can definitely recommend them and vouch for the workmanship as well as sound.

It beats Gibson like a rented mule, especially in this price range.
