Burnishing Raw Necks

After burnishing, should any kind of oil be applied to the neck? (Warmoth roasted maple).

If so, what kind of oil?

Generally not needed. I've never felt the need to oil the shaft on any of my raw burnished necks, but I do sometimes put a tiny dab of mineral oil on the fretboard and I supposed you could put a little on the shaft if you wanted to.
