Building an amp!

Had a busy weekend, and didn't get anything done on the amp  =(  Bought a new motorcycle friday night and the seller dropped it off.  Went to a motorcycle show in the cities saturday, and had the superbowl last night.  Oh, and my pug's mistress had his puppies  LOL.  But on a positive note, my new Weber Blue Dogs just arrived!!!!  :headbang1:  Definately working on the amp tonight.  Can't wait to hear how these puppies sound!

Sanding is done!  Rubbed a little danish furniture oil on the speaker cabs last night. Wanted to see how it would make the grain pop. Looking teets!!  will finish up both cabs this weekend

The front...walnut trim is glued in. Panels are just setting there for the photos. Need to pick up some 1" brad nails to get those mounted. Good thing I didn't glue them in last night, as I realised after looking at these pics, that they are in wrong! LOL.

Very well constructed speaker box, thanx for sharing the stages of build.  :icon_thumright:

It looks great.  :blob7:  :blob7:  :blob7:

The furniture oil was just a bit tacky in areas last night, so I am letting it sit a few more days before doing the top coat.  Did design the cabinet for the amp head last night.  Will look similar to the speaker cabs, minus the front baffle.  Going to use a piece of plexy so you can see the tubes glow.  Will get rolling on that as soon as the speaker cabinets are done.  :headbang1:

Varnish has been applied.  Coated very well.  Not sure if it will need more than one coat, but they look insane!!

Looks great!

If it was me, though, I'd take some fine abrasive to it, then clean it up and give it a second coat. Then another round for a third.

That is kind of what I was thinking.  To make it glass smooth

....and then cover it in Tolex!  :toothy12:
That is such a horrid suggestion  Tuck and roll crushed velvet is soo much classier.  :guitaristgif:

Y'all have got it all wrong,  :icon_scratch: hot pink spray paint with stickers would look super classy  :icon_jokercolor:

I dream of being able to do wood work like that

if I could, I would be so proud I would stain it so every joint was visible and could be admired.

great work
