I was hoping for nice streaks, but one big dark patch?

I know, it is what it is.  The body is sanded very smooth and ready to go except some burn marks.  Maybe I can do a reverse burst?

correction: the burn marks are actually small streaks.

I think the positive/negative space vibe will really come together once the neck's on etc. I'd want a little better, but I think it could be mega with the right parts/kit onboard. Maybe a white pickup cover? Super classy when Musicman does that.

Just in case you didn't know, korina needs grain fill if you want a smooth to the touch finish.

Black Korina is my fav' aesthetic wood.  Should look fantastic.

It has grown on me a bit the more I look at it.  Maybe after a few coats of oil the middle will show more subtle variations.
