Best. Wife. EVAR!!!1!1111 ZOMG!!!!

I like the LPS.. I almost switched my VIP to a LPS last minute..  but I think the Warmoth rep talked me out of it.. (thank God for that :))
I also thought the neckpocket looks kinda flimsy, but obviously there are never problems with it..

I love my LPS, and don't personally see anything wrong with the shape. But that's just me. :dontknow:

Me too.  The carved top ones can be bulky but  the flat tops have a great balance to them.

I'm in with the purple dye superstrat crowd.

and I love this ...

I tend to agree, and not just because the Finance Department is also the Bureau of Physical Affection.

The Finance Department has decreed that natural wood is for furniture, not electric guitars.

Sometimes furnitures can be very pretty. :laughing7:
I agree, sounds like the finance dept. needs some training in the finer points of beautiful guitars....aaaaaahhh, I mean furniture....

Things are getting underway.  We're leaning toward superstrat territory, but with some variation from what I suggested in the first post.  Here's the showcase neck I snatched last night:

Wenge/wenge, stainless 6110's.  The rest is for later....

I don't have any experience with wenge necks, but from what I understand it's a super-slick wood. Combined with SS frets, that thing is going to play like a dream.

Yup it definately is, going from a maple/maple finished neck on my p bass to my warmoth with wenge neck improved my speed and id say even accuracy around the neck thanks to the wenge feel.

Yeah, I need an excuse to get one of those lovelies. But, I've got more necks than bodies right now, so...

The trigger has been pulled.  A wee bit of sacrilege here, but too bad - it's my guitar, not yours.

The aforementioned wenge Strat neck is going on a mahogany-backed carved-top telecaster with the LP-positioned toggle switch, contoured heel, this top on it:

Back will be clear, with masked binding, and an approximation of this color scheme (technically, Warmoth's going to shoot the Caribbean burst but with purple instead of blue):

I'll bet none of you clowns has a coffee table this color.

I'll be cobbling together a source image to pass to our own DangerousR6 to see if we can come up with a neckplate that reflects my daughter's involvement in this whole thing.

Still not sure whether I'm gonna go with traditional humbuckers or a HB-form-factor P90 such as the harmonic design Z90 or the like.  Anyone here familiar with DiMarzio's Steve's Special?

You may all envy me starting....NOW.

All wonderful choices that I'm sure will bring great joy to your life. The sound and playability of that guitar are going to be glorious.

If any are bass necks id be glad to take one off your hands for my project bass that im finishing later in summer  :laughing7:
Loving this idea bagman, So warmoth would exchange the blue for purple in that finish? that gives me ideas to ask if they would change other schemes  :blob7:

Awesome choice! This whole story is full of so much win. Taking something shitty and making som good out of it. Taking something good and celebrating. And coolest of all daddy making his daughter feel pretty damn special :occasion14:

These pics kinda have thinkin........

Checked with Dangerous Doug to see if he can turn this into a neck plate:

My daughter wrote this on the driveway with chalk when she was in kindergarten.  I could live with a guitar name "Quty Pie".  That's what we called her all the time when she was little - and I still do, fairly often.

Hoping for a "yes" from Doug...

Maybe have the words slanted on the neck plate, one under the other? just thought id throw that out there for you n doug  :occasion14:

"Quty Pie" isn't very METAL....  :headbang1:
"Butt Pie" is kinda GLAM.... :guitaristgif:

I guess it's just a matter of choosing your sub-sect, and learning the rules to non-conform in the correct manner. :dontknow:

I'm not shooting for metal nor for glam - I want to hold my little girl in my arms every time I play this guitar.  I know, schmaltzy, but true.
