Well the LW Ash Strat body arrived. No time for pics right now (want to take it in sunlight).
Did weigh in at 3.24 lbs (rounding up).
Top route, all contours including neck, universal pup route (more on that later), NFT Floyd route.
It is unfinished and will be heading to Tonar for a Mary Kaye finishing. Hardware will be gold (except for the LSR nut). Switch tips and knobs parchment. Pickguard will be clear backpainted gold ala Gretsch.
Neck is not firmly established fully. Thinking roasted maple with Gold 6100s then off to have frets 5 up scalloped.
Regarding the universal route. That’s 2 fold. Get rid of weight. Next, the final plan is to have a “modern” Strat setup, but in the interim, it will substitute as a hair rock Guitar. Planning on Wylde XL500-L and a couple of their SCs to begin with.
The grain looks like it will present a MK finish well.
PS: the finished Tele body that was scheduled for Friday appears to be arriving tomorrow.
