Anybody else Freq'ing Out?

I'm getting rather palpitatious waiting for Pro Guitar Shop to send shipping notification on my DigiTech Freq Out pre-order... Anybody else? Or, better yet, anybody actually received one? It appears that a handful have made their way into the wild over the past few days. I have a brand new PedalTrain Terra just waiting to welcome it home...

Nope, but I wouldn't mind one. I think they seem absolutely awesome, based on what I've seen and heard.

Yeah, it's an exciting one. I haven't bought a pedal in over a year, since buying Helix. The GAS for this one was too much to resist...

I'd be interested in trying this out as the BOSS FB-2 Feedback/Sustainer is "ok", but does indeed have artifacts if left activated too long.

I wish the Fender Feedbacker would make a return.

Ideally, I'm gassing for these guys to launch, and to make this system available in multiple saddle configurations.  When it does launch, to my knowledge, it will be the only Sustainer/Sustainiac type of system that lives on the guitar that doesn't require you to give up a neck pickup slot for the driver to sit.  This is a huge benefit because many times, it's the neck pickup voicing in particular that I desire when generating this type of feedback.

Man, that thing is wicked! "Tilt detector enhances your choice of harmonics", that looks a lot like "Rock Star Mode" in application, haha! I'll be keeping one eye on those guys for sure...

Just got the shipping notice on my "Freq out", which means it'll probably be here tomorrow.

Excellent! Out of curiosity who did you order yours through? I talked to PGS and they reported a delay in their shipment, but confirmed that they have enough coming to cover all of their pre-orders. Should ought to be this week sometime...

I ordered mine from Sweetwater. They're usually on top of new releases. I suspect they buy large quantities and so might get some preferential treatment from suppliers.

Not only is Sweetwater a great place price wise, but they have excellent support.  They actually have manufacturer offices on site, ie; Roland has an office there, Sennheiser has an office there, and many others.  If a Sweetwater staff member doesn't have the answer themself, they'll seek it out by utilizing any in house resources like the remote office staff as mentioned above.  I found this out when getting some counsel on a purchase of 5 wireless systems and a combiner setup.

Sweetwater has always done right by me, for sure. But PGS has Andy! (Even if they don't have my pedal)  :toothy12:

Well, my pedal arrived yesterday, and all I can say is whoever doesn't have one of these little lovelies is missing out, big-time. What an incredibly cool little device! It does exactly what you always hoped overdriving the hell out of your amp at low volumes would to: Make it sound like you're cranked to the sky and able to get all the feedback you ever dreamed of, however and whenever you want it. Been waiting for a device like this all my life. Highly recommended.

Video Review?

I'm not in any position to do that. Video gear is still buried in storage. Lotsa stuff on the 'net already, though.

Plus Pro Guitar Shop has them on sale right now!  Get 15% off with code "PEDAL15"
Gotta love that...
:rock-on:

Thanks for the review, Cagey! As wonderful as marketing videos and polished reviewers like Pete Thorn and Andy at PGS are, it's all a bit suspect till it's in the "real world". I got my shipping notice yesterday, however I'll have to live vicariously through YouTube for a few more days as work has me far from my guitars...

I know what you mean. I really expected Pete Thorn to rip into some wild-assed thrashing and pull out some long drawn-out wails and insane screeches bouncing around 2 and 3 octaves at a time, but instead he did the subtle, tricky stuff. Not that that isn't cool as hell, but let's face it. Feedback is for wailing, not doing some ethereal U2/Edge-type stuff that normally takes $450K of studio magic to pull off and is liable to put you to sleep. Well, rest assured, you will be wailin' and screamin' like a banshee on meth. I mean, if you want to. Just to say you did.

Sounds like a pedal ripe for some Motor City Madman sonic yodeling!!!
