Put together, may stain the top a light brown to match the neck. Going to be finished with tru-oil.
Gonna find a test piece to dial in the right color.

With that neck I'm going with "Don't Look Ethel!" Perhaps with a neckplate bearing a crescent moon.

Holy moley, Andy! Those are some extra sweet parts! That's gonna be a real looker!

Thanks! I was a bit worried when it came to the ziricote since the term "figured" can vary so much in comparison to other woods. But I'm quite satisfied with what I got.

Yikes, was 1974 really that long ago? Oh well - I was too young to understand it in 1974, so I must've been "exposed" to it later on.

One could say that I was too young to understand it in 1974 as well, but that would be due to the fact that I wasn't around till 20 years later. :laughing7:

I'm not a fan of fingerboards of other than maple and ebony but that body, holy schnikeez!! What is your plan on the color and finish? If it were me I'd have a hard time not just tossing a clear coat on it and letting it go natural. Good Lord that's one sexy top!!

Thanks! Initially I was just gonna go over it with a bit of tru-oil to enhance the grain a bit and keep a natural, satin color. But as I keep looking at it, I'm now searching for a nice tan/light brown water-based dye to match the top to the goncalo alves. I'm on the fence.

Knew I'd seen that streak/lightning bolt somewhere. Had I been browsing the showcase when I got her, she'd probably be named "Ziri". Or perhaps "Ziricat"
