ya, ya, ya, it's not a floyd. So sue me... :help:

Seriously bummed this body (and built by you of all people, doesn't have a Floyd...

What kind of sick alien body snatchers have taken our Doug?! Bastards.

Those pickups are badass though!

Loving it!  My only complaint is that the knobs look out of place.  Also, did I miss a description of exactly what those pickups are?  I thought they were Roadhouse, but what exactly are those polepieces?

How do they look outta place? :icon_scratch: Think dome style would look better... :dontknow:

The pups rrrrrrrrr from Ken at Roadhouse, they are actually his "specials" with my twist on the poles. Which are black oxide button head cap screws. Which is my version of a SD invader in a single coil...And Ken is calling them D6's... :headbang1:

It's starting to look like a bridge. Just gott work out the pivot points and bend up the back.. :icon_biggrin:

I thought about those, and would certainly look cool, but I had something more special in mind... :dontknow:

The knobs just look cheap compared to the rest of the slick, modern looking pieces.  I have faith in you to come up with something awesome.  :party07:

I don't know about "cheap", but Strat-style knobs have always looked a bit "busy" to me. I mean, why are they labeled? Are there so many of them that you need constant reminders of which ones control what? If so, why aren't they lighted? It would be kinda like labeling the pedals in a car. If you don't know which is which and why, you're already in trouble and labels probably aren't going to help.

And what are those numbers for? There's no pointer reference. All you get from looking at them is... "Hey! There's numbers on these knobs! I wonder why?"

On the plus side, 82 bajillion guitars have those knobs on them, so it's not like the design jumps out at you and demands attention.

Good point, I've always wondered myself why the numbers an no pointer.. :icon_scratch:

I'll have to look in my stash, I might have some domes... :icon_biggrin:

You know what you need to look for in your "stash"? A path to a metal lathe...

Incidentally, if you or anyone else is interested, you can get knob pointer thingys in the aftermarket...

They obviously come in either nickel or gold, and are $5.00 or $6.50 a set respectively.

Ever STUCK yerself on one o' them pointers? They's dangerous, man!

Hehe! No doubt. They also have a tendency to move, which means they can't be trusted and so aren't much of a reference.

I'm not suggesting anyone use them, just pointing them out in case anyone needs to learn a fairly inexpensive but frustrating and potentially painful lesson.

What was the first great heavy-metal sound? A screaming Marshall - with a guitar made out of soft, squishy mahogany, with a soft, squishy short-scale length, and muffled, bassy humbucking pickups. As an owner of a Fender aluminum body, I predict we may be seeing just a bit of re-engineering when Mr. 6 finds out the aluminum body operates in a tonal zone somewhere between the icepickiest-Telecaster ever made and a sheet metal ripsaw.

I think they may have left all that empty space inside so you can fill it up with capacitors, BIG ones.... :party07: It's not that there isn't any bass response - there's plenty. But trying to locate it while your ears are desperately trying to head for the bomb shelter requires a bit of composure. But, boy, if the neighborhood cats are buggin' you... :evil4:
