All about Iceman Projects

okay, the Gotoh 510 is dead, at least if I'm buying from Warmoth. I just cant stand the idea of the fretboard gap (since I cant have the 720 Mod. and I plan to order a 24 fret neck.)

So now I'm on the fence between the Tele-HB Bridge and the Old TonePros TOM...

argh.

Oh, Ideas...

methinks a single HB Iceqire needs to happen...

What'da ya call that?

A Teleman?

he called it an Icecaster.

not a bad price. but a righty....

so me no go.

I think it ballparked at around 1200

your talk of a purple iceman makes me think of this:

i feel like it's got a similar vibe to a dyed quilt top, but using paint technique for the texture instead of expensive wood. I love it when I saw it.

though I think if you want to handpaint a mahogany body, that'd be awesome

Potential headstocks ....Spammy Post. thoughts on aesthetics?

my only big Need is Inline tuners...

as for the wood... these Photocrapped together pics are just for the outline....

definitely the jackson headstock. radical body shapes call for radical headstocks in my opinion.

Normally I would agree, but one, that's not a Jackson headstock. It's the explorer. But I actuall like the warhead with that, the upsidedown mostly. But I agree a rev Jackson would be the shiz, or maybe a Warmoth 3+3... :dontknow:

I shooped the jackson a bunch of times. and as it has no curves, it never looked on purpose.

the 3+3 Warmoth is not bad. but having seen it on a built Warmoth Iceman, and wanting inline tuners... it was not for me... it looked... not on purposey.

Funny thing is that I know Flipped headstocks are an inconvenience...(And I want an inline for the convenience ) but I really like the looks on this guitar.

Right now... its between these twoheadstocks, Flipped. or paying a luthier to cut out an Ibanez inline on a paddle.... and my (Untested) Luthier says he STARTS his quotes on that at 200 dollars...

Hrm...

Actually reversed headstocks are actually more convenient. Tuners are underneath, just right directly inline with your hand....But if you have a Floyd then it's all incidental anyway...I personally go for asthetics first, "does the headstock fit the body" then etc. etc. etc...

Stupid question, but one I'm brainfarting with at the moment.

the Warmoth site says its top adjust....

so... as my mockup sits, does ordering Right hand reverse Neck orientation give me dots on the correct side?

I think it does.

I don't believe so, right hand rev still have the dots on the side as any right hand neck would. You should order a left hand rev neck to have the dots facing to correct side... :icon_biggrin:

I've got a few idea's for what I'm going to paint on it... and come Order day I may Omit a Humbucker...

but thats about it.

I've found a local Luthier to do some Inserts/extra shaping on the neck joint. and a tummy cut. I was about to ship it across the country to have that done but this guys in my own backyard. he dialed in my old warlock and turned it into a different creature. so I'm giving him a chance.

threaded inserts+ferrules+additional shaping of neck joint

kind of somewhere between contoured heel and Ibanez AANJ

cant go too crazy. but I hope to get a more organic shape then the square joint Warmoth Provides.

that, the tummy cut and my personal paintjob are going to be the uh... big features....

of this guitar.
