59 Roundback Question!

Hi all I'm looking for something similar to the Suhr Even C Medium on the 'Mateus Asato' Signature guitar. Tried the signature guitar out and really liked it. The specs on sheet says that it is .840" - .920". I'm looking at the available neck profile, I believe 59 roundback is the most similar to this with it being .860" - .960".

The other thing is that the suhr has a 1.650 nut width. If I were to go to 1 11/16 and the 59 roundback, will it be quite far from the suhr neck?

Any suggestions/feedback will be appreciated !

Yes, getting a wider nut width will make a significant difference to how big the neck profile feels.

The '59 with the 1 11/16" nut will feel more like a Les Paul without the slim taper profile.

If you want a good balance of the in-between, the Wolfgang on a 1 11/16" is pretty boss!

Do you think the 1 5/8 or the 1 11/16 is more similar to a 1.650? Don't really want to go the custom route since it will probably take quite awhile before i can get the neck haha

Never really tried assymetrical neck profiles before, wolfgang looks interesting though!

I have this profile on a Warmoth Tele neck.  It really is a great balance of chunk on the thumbside and a slimmer profile on the finger side.  Meaty, but not at the same time.

The 59 is my personal Goldilocks. In fact, it's my favorite neck profile of all time. You will certainly feel a difference between the nut size and specs of the 59 compared to the Suhr. If possible get your hands on an older G&L with the Classic C neck profile...basically any 2010 and older G&L will do. Those have a 1 5/8" nut and profile similar to the 59. If you like the G&L you will like the 59.
