2 pickups with blender pot instead of pickup selector switch?

Hi All,

I don't have a lot of hands on experience with wiring and am wondering if it's possible to wire a blender pot to replace a pickup selector switch for a bridge and neck pickup.

The set up I have in mind is a concentric pot for both pickups (Volume and Tone).
Everything I'm reading and seeing with wiring diagrams is about using a blender pot with a 3 pickup configuration, and I don't have the knowledge to determine how this could work with 2 pickups.

I'm open to other ideas if that's not possible. Thanks.

It is possible, but think about practicality.

If each pup has its own vol pot, why the blender? (think Jazz bass). If that is not the case, in live use a blender pot is more cumbersome to make adjustments to than a switch (think Tele with a modded Esquire wiring). I though I'd love that last example, but live I really don't like it at all.

I would forgo the individual volumes because you have a blend, thus making an individual volume in a single pot.

Many basses are wired this way with a Master Volume, Blend, and Tone (sometimes a preamp instead of a tone) but the principle is the same.

This is the kind of pot you are looking for:

It seems most of them are linear taper which should be fine in your application.

Thanks for the response. I'm fairly new to modding and have been soaking up so much information to the point of overload. I don't think I was fully understanding the reason behind doing this so thanks for the reality check. I appreciate it.
