This subject was covered by Tonar or Jack the Hack. Do some research and check it out. If my memory serves me it was trans blue and blue filler. Same principles for black under trans blue....Good luck

If you dead set on ferrules then good luck. Even with a drill press and patients mine came out...Well lets just say my ferrule job was not good. That being said I found this option much more to my taste...http://www.taipantone.com/pages/ferrel%20block.html
I just used a orbital sander with 150 sandpaper. After I switched to a block using 180-220 dry. Of course this is null & void if you already have a finish on your guitar. Oh snap..you already have a finish. My bad :icon_biggrin:
BTW - next time use a fostner bit.
A little trip to WoodCraft in Austin brought about a nice suprise. This very nice older guy set me up with some scrap hard ash, a Forstner bit and a plug cutter. He even took me to the drill press to explain how to use each tool :icon_thumright:
