Wow, nice. And they ordered the "turbo" pickup placement as well! Exactly what I would have done. :)
I have a similar bubinga body. I'm going to guess 7 pounds.
Fender's new ABS molded cases seem to work just fine. I bought one a little while ago and tested it out this evening with one of my Gecko basses, and it fit pretty much perfectly. Granted, there's a bit of extra space around the body (since P and J basses are a bit more bulbous) but it didn't...
Excellent choice of woods!
Hey, that's the EMG MM5TW pickup that you've chosen, correct? I have one that I'm not using any more. PM me your shipping address, and I'll send it to you. :)
So is SUE, and the Strat with the Bocote pickguard, and... yeah. Everything is nice. It's good to see so many really nice entries this month. I honestly don't know how to vote. :)
I think it was made in early 2010. I saved a copy of the images from their website in April of that year. I remember it was in the showcase for at least a few weeks. I don't know anything behind the neck lamination, other than it was very different from anything I had seen before...

I agree with 'ihnpts'. I like the look of the white pickguard (as well as the shape) and it's...
Black Korina might be a bit lighter than Walnut. It depends on the tree. I've found that it has a nice midrange-rich tone, similar to Mahogany. It will sound very nice with a stiff neck wood such as Wenge. I'm not sure I have tried that combination yet, but it should be very nice.
