    Custom pick guard project

Thanks for all the comments  :headbang: Really happy with how this pickguard turned out ... here's a short little clip from today, the guard really does pop. 5KLFjEf2dlY

    Custom pick guard project

I didn't use anything to stick it. I used an exacto knife to trace around the pick guard and cut the paper to size, including the holes for the pickups and knobs. Once you install the pickups etc, it is automatically held in place.

    Custom pick guard project

UPDATE - So after some thought and discussion, I thought the first and easiest step might be to just try and print the image on regular glossy photo paper and lay it behind a clear pick guard. If that didn't work I'd try the water slide paper and white paint. Anyway - here are a few pics of the...

    Custom pick guard project

Good idea Jesse, but you can't print the colour white on the water slide paper... the paper is clear and the laser printer prints white by not printing anything at all - it assumes the regular white paper will show through. So placing the image on the top of a white pick guard enables the white...

    Custom pick guard project

Hi all - been a while since I was on the forum  :( Thought I'd share a photo of this pick guard in progress. Just a crazy idea I had last night and it looks promising. This was  a psychedelic image I split across 2 sheets of water slide paper and applied to a basic white pick guard. The plan...

What is your favorite effect pedal and what do you like about it??

I haven't owned pedals in 20 years, always used a rack mount preamp etc. But recently I was flip-flopping on either upgrading my current rig to the Axe FX II or getting a vintage style tube amp and building a pedalboard. Decided to do the pedalboard and have some fun experimenting with that...

Tuning problem - a nut thing?

Thanks for the tips! I did spend quite a bit of time levelling and crowning the frets, and usually can set up the guitar well ... but I hear ya'. I just bought Dan Erlewine''s book online. Seems like that would be a wise investment, and I'll walk through the set up as per his process before I...

Tuning problem - a nut thing?

Hey guys, As previously posted, I completed my first Warmoth build earlier this year. The original neck I put on the body was fitted with the LSR nut. When I installed it, I only added a single shim on the nut and the result was that the guitar action was perfect. The bridge (Wilkinson trem)...

    Cover band frustrations

I've been multi effects rack mount for years, and like you play in a cover band. The idea for me was to do what you are talking about, tweak each patch to match each specific song ... but I'm just lazy I guess, because despite my good intentions I just have 5-6 core tones and use those for all...

Real life application of Axe Fx II (and similar units)

I'm having some serious thoughts about the Axe Fx II, and from reading other posts I have no illusions that the unit kicks butt. However, I'm trying to view this purchase decision practically. I've always used a rack mounted pre-amp / processor and power amp into a cab. The last 15 years have...

Warmoth Pro / Wizard profile Goncalo - Pau Ferro neck for sale.

Hmmm I had not, good point... but since I already bought a new neck, I think I'm still inclined to try and sell first. Rather put a few bucks in my piggy bank (saving for Axe FX II) than sit on a spare neck.

Warmoth Pro / Wizard profile Goncalo - Pau Ferro neck for sale.

I recently (like 2 months ago) built this Strat http://unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=23289.0 The issue with this neck for me is the 6105 frets. I thought I would be OK with those, but I'm used to playing the larger frets, and have just bought anther neck with the 6150 frets. So this...
