whatever you call Prince's guitars  :dontknow:

Fugly.  But you have to honor his playing
I got to agree with you on many of the guitars Prince has played, but that Bill Lawrence Telecaster he uses is beautiful!

I still don't know what a Buck Owens is, but (only because of this board) I do know what his guitar looks like.
I saw that someone on page 4 mentioned Prince, but I haven't noticed anyone mention Chaim Witz (Gene Simmons) Axe-Bass.

I believe that Prince started using a Hohner Tele copy as his career started rising and that was what was used in the Purple Rain film and thereafter. I think the Honer Tele copy precedes the Swampcaster that Bill Lawrence made for a time.

Slash's LP on Appetite, SRV's strat, and EVH's Frankenstein and his first custom model with Peavey come to mind.

You may be right Re-Pete. All I know is from seeing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SFNW5F8K9Y
It both looks good and sounds good IMHO!  :laughing7: :guitarplayer2:

There's actually a famous guitars T-shirt. Here's the print image (sorry for the poor quality):

That's a Hohner Prince is playing there. Thanx for linking that YT clip, it gave me another excuse to view that footage again! The looks on Petty and Dhani when he falls backwards is priceless & something I bet George himself would've laughed his head off seeing.
BTW, about Prince. His amplification - his main pre-amp or amp head, seems to be something like a Mesa Boogie. That raspy scratchy sustained tone has been his trademark for years. I'm pretty sure it's Boogie or similar...anyone have some idea?
