The Schaller Floyd Rose is identical to a regular Floyd Rose in every way that matters. Schaller makes (or used to make) Floyd Rose trems for Floyd Rose.
The only real difference is that Schaller trems use shorter string lock screws which makes a more compact trem, so the body routs for them...
From what you describe, I think you'll enjoy a brass block - a much 'mellower' metal IMO compared to the usual suspects. I love mine.
You might also want to try a different set of tremolo springs, I have a set of these and love them - they're made from a softer, but more robust spring metal...

I've had and played them all. IMHO, Schaller trems are superior to OFR (even though Schaller makes them) or Gotoh. I prefer mine
with the steel spring plate removed and a nice brass block.

I'm always a sucker for candy colors, red especially, and I love the Khaler trem. But I can't in good conscience vote for a tele!
