2 Iron Maiden Strats - Dave & Adrian

Just out of the box.
I'm doing 1 Dave Murray-inspired and 1 Adrian Smith-inspired Strat.

So these just arrived!

One is "Light Yellow" in gloss
the other one is "Alpine White" in Satin!!
and a couple of pickguards...

both HSH and Floyd Rose (angled neck pocket) routed!

I built a Dave Murray strat last year.
It's become my favorite guitar.
I recently changed the neck to a roasted maple and man! Did it come alive!

Ok, meanwhile there has been a slight progress.
Necks have been ordered (from Smitty Guitars in NL - greatest guy ever and awesome work btw! Highly recommended!!) and are ready for painting/inlays.
And Pickups have arrived from Manlius for the Adrian Smith Strat. (the Dave Murray Strat will use Hot Rails / JBJr.s)

Super Distortion in the neck is pretty cool, actually I like pickups intended for bridge in the neck position  :toothy12:

I wanna see these finished now  :icon_jokercolor:

So, it's been over a year and a half and the Strats were lying on the bench of my luthier for all this time (for various personal reasons).
Anyway, happy to report that they are in the final stages now...

Dave Murray Strat is 99% finished. Some final tweaks to string action etc. I went with green Luminlay dots on this one.

Adrian Smith Strat still needs a bit of assembly. But basically 90% done as well. it should be done in the next 2 weeks.

Sorry it's taken so long... anyway, almost there now!

That roasted maple neck goes nicely with the yellow body.

Thanks, yes I think the roast looks nice with Warmoth's "Light Yellow". Luminlay's look nice too!

A bit of work still needs to be done on the Adrian Smith Strat...
The jack will be black as well... this was just a quick mockup to test a few things.
