vox Lil Night Train On The Way

Meh. Ain't no more soviet anything.  :tard:  :rock-on: And some of the new Sovteks sounds ok to me. But I agree on the Chinese tubes and that upgrades make things better. I'm into Tun Sols in preamps and JJ power tubes. Huge improvements.

    Thoughts?

I'm gonna guess the idea wasn't to improve on the sound of a classical guitar but to draw attention to the irony that's bound up in that particular git-fiddle. And I think it's funny. Who cares if it's playable? Walk into guitar center. How many of those are playable or sound good?  :rock-on:

    Playing in Church

For a while, I used to play a lot of "vocal" harmonies on guitar with the same idea swarf mentioned. I found that I'd stylize it too much and it would be hard to sing with but I know some people who have incorporated it better so I'm sure it can be done. The real goal is to get tapping into...

    Playing in Church

I've played in an alt band, a metal band, and a worship band in the last few years and the worship band was always the most challenging in terms of guitar parts. There are a lot of dynamics available when you go with a full band that you don't get with a pipe organ, etc. and for that reason I've...

    Post what you're listening to!

I'm impressed by how much I've liked the stuff that's been mentioned here. I'd never heard of glitchmob or airbag before and both have been well worth my time.

    What do you all think?

One tip I've taught myself is that choosing something because it's cheap doesn't usually leave me satisfied. I've done it a few times and the convenience of getting what I wanted sooner usually hasn't been worth the way I thinking about what I wish I could've changed. If I just think naturally...

Impulse Ebay pedal purchase.. or two..sigh

Have you gotten it shipped yet? If you haven't plugged through it yet I'd wait before buying something similar. That way you know what kind of deal you're walking into.

filtertron vs split humbuckers vs ...

TBurst, I think you misread the OP. I don't know much about either except that the Split Humbuckers were designed by Seth Lover (of PAF fame) to be a more wide-range pickup. It was designed to sound more like a single-coil and less like a PAF but still be hum-canceling. The original split...

I saw Bon Jovi last night...

Yeah Sambora did some awesome stuff in that band in the early 90's. Since then, it's all be crap. Boring. But he had some *cool* shredding, which isn't all that easy to come by.
