    Differences in Ebony Tonality?

I’ve been having a really hard time with this lately, is there a difference between Macassar Ebony and African Ebony tonally? I ask because I seem to prefer the tone and slightly sweeter attack of a straight maple neck, but as a Floyd Rose player/abuser I know Ebony is probably a better choice...

    Floyd Rose Nut prep

Man, after being the guy in my local music scene that gets the call for all the crazy Floyd action I gotta say. Get the rear mounted holes. Even if the screws hold it down from the top with over 100 Ilbs of pressure from your strings at the head stock the locknut will shift slightly. 90% of the...

Why can't a paddle headstock neck be roasted?

You are 100% correct. I just noticed that in the neck customizer options on the paddle necks roasted maple is not an option. I guess you'll probably just have to ask for this option over the phone. I just thought I'd ask if anyone knew if they'd say no.  :headbang:

Why can't a paddle headstock neck be roasted?

Why can't a maple paddle headstock neck be roasted? I know why Warmoth won't finish the neck. That's obvious, but why not roasted?

    Neck Construction and Stability

I'd really be into a full ebony neck. I've though about it a lot. I'm kinda a maple/rosewood guy myself though. Although I think the alternative I've been looking at is using Kingwood for the rosewood because of it's stability. Combine that with some roasted maple and I should be pretty square...

    Neck Construction and Stability

    Neck Construction and Stability

Hey, guys haven't been on here in...four years?  :laughing7: Anyway, great to be back! My question is about multi-laminate necks. I know Warmoth offers quarter-sawn, but not multi-laminate necks. Forgive me if this question has been asked recently as I haven't been on here, but I heard from a...

    Maggot Brain Cover Jam/improv/cover

So my friend Mike and I were jamming and he asked if I wanted to play Maggot Brain, so I used my DD-7 as a looper.  What do you guys think? Other than the intro it's completely improvised. :] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cDHqVvlUXQ

    Something similar to alder?

Considering I'm not looking for a neck wood that's REALLY not going to help me. Of course I already looked at the body-wood version of this. I'm not so dumb that I didn't look at that for a half hour before posting this.

    Something similar to alder?

Hey guys maybe you can help me with this one. I'm looking for a wood that has a similar tone to alder but is a little heavier and maybe just a microscopic pinch warmer. Any ideas? Thanks, HM  :rock-on:

    Canary & Banana Pudding...

Ya know the three bolt construction is so underated, its neck tilting mecanizm (if that's how you spell it!  :icon_biggrin) works better than the new micro tilt. (In my opinion)

    Warmoth Strat Headstock Mistake

Alright, guys I'm not mad and I'm not trying to down grade Warmoth here, I do consider Warmoth's replacement parts to be one of the highest quality in the entire market. I just thought it was curious.  And I love this "Third, the chicks are NOT going to notice this, dude!"-tfarny

    Warmoth Strat Headstock Mistake

Yeah I probably am out of my mind but I'm not gonna just stop buying anything from Warmoth because of this. It just bugs me.

New Body: Fender HM Strat please

Yeah Maybe Warmoth should offer them, I know I would like it, but they'd also have to introduce a 25.1 inch scale neck (that's what the H.M.s have) and plus if they did H.M.s wouldn't as legendary, because then every 16 year old kid with money could get their hands on one. P.S. As my name...

    Warmoth Strat Headstock Mistake

Okay, I want you guys (and Warmoth) to take a good look at this. I was scrolling through some pictures of warmoth headstocks lately and I realized something. The normal pre CBS headstocks are not the correct shape! There is a slight curve that is not added right below where the logo or decal...
