Differences in Ebony Tonality?

I’ve been having a really hard time with this lately, is there a difference between Macassar Ebony and African Ebony tonally? I ask because I seem to prefer the tone and slightly sweeter attack of a straight maple neck, but as a Floyd Rose player/abuser I know Ebony is probably a better choice than maple for me. I also like the look. The only times I’ve played guitars with an Ebony fretboard were imports so it most certainly was Macassar. If anyone has tried both and can give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated!

I have both, they feel similar and I would not say on a complete guitar there would be or is any appreciable difference in tone if there is any at all.
