    72 Precision vs "Standard"

I finally figured it out. Looking at the pics with a pickguard, the controls on the 72 are higher up on the body. The volume knob is even with the mounting screw for the bottom rout. On the standard they are closer to the bottom.

    First nut!

String spacing ruler. This way you get the different spacing correct from one side to the other. https://www.ebay.com/itm/String-Spacing-Rule-Guitar-Luthier-Tool/332815651247?hash=item4d7d5bd1af:g:WPQAAOSwzIZbpfhH

    72 Precision vs "Standard"

Hi all, it's been a while. I'm missing my P bass, so I'm on the hunt for parts. Can anyone tell me what the difference between a 72 P and a "Standard" P body is? I just can't tell anything from the pics I've found.

    Does this look authentic?

Not having much Warmoth history knowledge, I'm appealing to those here with more background. Does this heel look authentic? The quote marks are different than mine and the screw holes aren't countersunk. But I didn't know if this was the way things were done in the past.

    Just arrived

Swamp Ash P body, Maple neck, ebony fret board. I'll use the standard Gotoh bridge, Bill Lawrence pickup, and, at least for now, Fender tuners. I'll try for a black translucent finish on the body, clear 1K on the neck, tortie pick guard. Gonna take a while to get it grain filled with a black...

    He pulled the trigger

Just to set the record straight, I have had other things besides Squiers. It's just that lately I've been buying Squier Jazz that have neck issues, fixing them and SELLING them. By the way, that little Toby went to AirCap...

    Bass Nut Slots

Thing is, it's hard to get the correct angle on the cut and the bottom of the slot may wind up not being round. Just take it to a tech and have it done right.

Things to be concerned about with a Warmoth build.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try to be diligent about taking pictures as it progresses and post progress.

Things to be concerned about with a Warmoth build.

Hello all, New to the forum. I just bought a P bass body and a J neck. I’m looking for any assembly “gotchas” that those with more Warmoth experience may have. By way of background, I’ve played bass off and on for 40 years. Eight years ago I decided that I should get a 6 string to work on...
