    Virtual Guitar Builder?

I started a build of https://virtual-guitar-builder.co.uk/ a while back with plans to add lots more, but it’s a lot more work than you may think. My approach was an experiment that went way beyond practicality for the method used initially [intentionally so] and I do plan to rewrite it - when I...

Is there anyway to tell if a neck is quatersawn?

Rename the file extension to .jpg - the site probably can’t recognise the .jpeg extension.

Q: Does humor belong in music?

Laughter has a rhythm, so yeah!

    Bubinga neck tone vs maple

I agree with Rick2 - bubinga is a little warmer than maple. I have a roasted maple neck on a mahogany body with maple cap - spanky sounding. My bubinga neck is on a mahogany body with a canary top - warmer and a touch more mids and bottom. There’s a difference in shapes & bridges, one being a...

Want your guitar to be famous?

I considered submitting my Jazzmaster build until I realised I don’t have any really high quality photos. Can’t get any in a hurry either as it’s grim weather where I am, so dark and dull - hardly the flattering lighting needed to make it shine...

    Favorite vintage-style strat tuners?

Gotoh SD91’s for me too. With staggered posts or white button and nickel finish variations available, it’s easy to select ones that suit your build. I even replace the locking versions with the standard split post ones.

Quality of custom ordered Warmoth necks??

I’ve got 4 custom order necks. Had a pro tech fettle them and they are utterly superb. You won’t be disappointed with it straight out of the box, but with some additional work, you’re on to a winner.

    Outcaster Build: HSH Jazzmaster Project

I'd use a hand reamer, rather than step bits for cleaning up holes. Less risk and more control where your paint / finish is concerned!

    Outcaster Build: HSH Jazzmaster Project

I requested bridge holes for 'Hipshot' layout be drilled at the time of ordering the body - by adding a request in the 'Notes' section. All screws have gone in straight as they're all pre aligned. I see you had the standard hardtail bridge holes routed, which would account for why your holes...

    Outcaster Build: HSH Jazzmaster Project

I see someone has similar ideas to me, when it comes to Jazzmasters! Non front-inlay Warhead neck, Hipshot bridged and cool colour painted body... I approve! Look forward to progress pics!  :icon_thumright:

    Charcoal Frost...blue or gray?

I've just used that image to update the colour values on my Virtual Guitar Builder, as it's the clearest depiction I've seen yet - but sadly I have reservations... I'd like to see a pic one for Pewter, as I recently received a Strat replacement body finished in Pewter and my expectation of it...

    Hipshot Hardtail Bridge Question

I’ve got a couple of those bridges on my Warmoth’s - both .125 and .175 and would choose the thicker .175 base plate version for comfort, as the saddles will sit flatter. On the thinner version, the saddle corners are a bit annoying due to the angle caused by the action - and I have my action...

Anybody have experience with dummy coils?

There’s a dummy coil in my MIM Deluxe Powerhouse Strat, which is to cancel noise, ala humbucker, as there’s also an active tone boost. At least your Tele has space made for your additional magnets and isn’t just wedged into the standard control cavity!

Warhead vs Jazzmaster headstock (size and global look)

Warhead looks fine on a JM body! I may be biased though... https://imgur.com/gallery/qiWHn
