I started a build of https://virtual-guitar-builder.co.uk/ a while back with plans to add lots more, but it’s a lot more work than you may think.
My approach was an experiment that went way beyond practicality for the method used initially [intentionally so] and I do plan to rewrite it - when I...
I agree with Rick2 - bubinga is a little warmer than maple.
I have a roasted maple neck on a mahogany body with maple cap - spanky sounding. My bubinga neck is on a mahogany body with a canary top - warmer and a touch more mids and bottom.
There’s a difference in shapes & bridges, one being a...
I considered submitting my Jazzmaster build until I realised I don’t have any really high quality photos. Can’t get any in a hurry either as it’s grim weather where I am, so dark and dull - hardly the flattering lighting needed to make it shine...
Gotoh SD91’s for me too. With staggered posts or white button and nickel finish variations available, it’s easy to select ones that suit your build.
I even replace the locking versions with the standard split post ones.
I’ve got 4 custom order necks. Had a pro tech fettle them and they are utterly superb. You won’t be disappointed with it straight out of the box, but with some additional work, you’re on to a winner.

I see someone has similar ideas to me, when it comes to Jazzmasters! Non front-inlay Warhead neck, Hipshot bridged and cool colour painted body...
I approve!
Look forward to progress pics! :icon_thumright:
I've just used that image to update the colour values on my Virtual Guitar Builder, as it's the clearest depiction I've seen yet - but sadly I have reservations...
I'd like to see a pic one for Pewter, as I recently received a Strat replacement body finished in Pewter and my expectation of it...
I’ve got a couple of those bridges on my Warmoth’s - both .125 and .175 and would choose the thicker .175 base plate version for comfort, as the saddles will sit flatter.
On the thinner version, the saddle corners are a bit annoying due to the angle caused by the action - and I have my action...
There’s a dummy coil in my MIM Deluxe Powerhouse Strat, which is to cancel noise, ala humbucker, as there’s also an active tone boost. At least your Tele has space made for your additional magnets and isn’t just wedged into the standard control cavity!
