After 5 years since the initial (and a bit bumpy) build I've finally pulled a trigger and build another strat. This one is Mark Lettieri's strat inspired as I've fell in love with Translucent Sonic Blue over Swamp Ash.
Specs:
Body: Extra light Swamp Ash, Translucent Sonic Blue...

As on Monday my neck is going to be delivered, I started initial body assembly. Unfortunately I've found out that one of tremolo stud insert is 0,65mm (.026) closer to the neck than the other one. Is this discrepancy acceptable? I know that I can compensate it with saddles, but still bridge...
Wow, that was fast. After just a bit more than two weeks (!!! :cool01: !!!) my custom ordered neck has been sent. Now only the long way across the ocean and customs clearance left. Prepare for photos next week.
Thanks for that Tonar! As those dyes are based on alcohol, then I assume that all alcohol based dyes should mix nicely with polyurethane laquer, aren't they?
While waiting for the neck for my Warmoth strat, I decided to repair finish on the rear of my old strat. I'm trying to get a similar Transparent Brown as Warmoth use for their finishes. I bought polyurethane lacquer and brown pigment, tried to mix them together and... they can't be mixed. What...
