If anything it only enhances the look - you could drop in some clear lacquer to protect it from spreading if the tactile thing affects the way you play, but it's something I wouldn't hide. My eyes only registered "That's a killer guitar."
Thanks! It's gold-anodized aluminum, which I think was Fender's standard for P-Basses in the late 50's? I didn't expect Olympic White to have such a strong blue-ish tint, but I really really dig the combination.
So I'm more of a guitar player than bassist these days, but the 20% sale hooked me: I'm assembling the P Bass I've always wanted, because...why not? Just waiting on a roasted maple/unfinished neck, this will have a Nord NP4. Excited!
I have two different MIM strat bodies (one with a Warmoth neck) that have different contours when looked at next to one another, but your eye would never tell you either was anything but a Strat - the older body is from a 2000 or 2001 Standard (Midnight Wine) and the forearm countour has pretty...
Aye, it's the same body - like you said no pickguard for contrast and there's a fair amount of sunlight hitting it as well - we don't normally get a lot of winter sun in Buffalo, NY, heh. :icon_biggrin:

My first impression is to love the compound radius - bends are super smooth and chords are clear as reported! I wish I trusted myself to solder, but I need to invest in a proper soldering iron (and invest time practicing) so I'll try that another time on...
:hello2:
