    Identify this tele neck?

I knew it was not "roasted rosewood," does that even exist? But thought it was worth the entertainment value at $120 (which does not buy much these days!). I already dropped it off at my guitar shop to get bolted up and setup. The truss nut is an Allen wrench nut in the heel. Frets felt great...

    Identify this tele neck?

Recently picked this up off craigslist for $120. Seller claimed it was a USA tele neck made by Fender. There is no way. He also said it is "roasted rosewood." It looks to be roasted maple. Pretty neck and well worth $120, whatever it is. But can any of you experts help identify any details of...

Newbie Question - how does a Warmoth assembled guitar compare to a USA Fender?

I bought my warmoth parts and paid a luthier to do the final assembly and setup. The result: I honestly believe my strat is equal to or better then any Fender Custom Shop instrument. That said, I have seen some warmoth guitars on ebay that are all screwed up because tuners are installed...

Modern player telecaster plus: will Warmoth neck fit?

Hi folks: Played one of thhese teles at guitar center recently. I thought it was pretty cool and fun for the $$ (less than $400). http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Modern-Player-Electric-Fretboard/dp/B005N2ANOS Does anyone know if a Warmoth neck will bolt on this tele's body? The guitars are...

    A Few Telecaster Questions

I like the Barden bridge a lot, especially since I would not consider spending $150 plus on the Glendale, Callham etc ones.

Easy first time finish with pictures

That really looks nice, and it sounds like even *I* might be able to do it. . . questions: 1. is that an alder tele body? 2. did you fill the grain first? 3. what type of stain? Just brush on one coat? 4. the poly. just brush on a coat and let it cure 24 hours or what? thanks.

Is there any reason not to opt for a string thru?

Tele ace Jim Campilongo's '53 (i think) tele is a drop-in (not string-thru) bridge. His tone is fantastic, and he says the strings feel more "rubbery" on a drop-in bridge vs. a string thru. But the solution is obvious, and most posters here already know it: We all need several of each type! I...

waterslide decal application on Warmoth gloss neck: polyurethane?

I read the other posts on this subject, but am still not clear. My understanding is that the "gloss" finish applied by Warmoth (to my tele neck) is a polyurethane finish. So a clear poly spray from a can should be OK going over the decal and headstock . . . correct? SO: After I carefully apply...

Using Spray cans for a finish

Dan: Excellent post, thx for the detailed advice. I will soon attempt a "candy tangerine" finish by (after filling, sealing &priming) doing a krylon silver, then 5-6 soats of reranch orange. And advice for that project? Particularly how the orange will go on top of or adhere to the silver...

    SG Fret Reach

I like SGs a lot, very light and resonant, the tone is different than an LP, but still full-tilt humbucker scream. Never had any issues with tuning or neck diving on mine. Best thing about them is how light they are, the whole thing resonates, like it's alive when you play it. Great guitars!

Planet Waves Auto-trim tuners are garbage!

Another vote for the schaller mini locking tuners, I really like them, flawless performance, great quality. so, yeah, you have to cut your own strings. It's not THAT bad, you know ? ? ?
