I'm sure you know this, but the last luthier standing at Gibson ended up standing at Heritage guitars in the old plant in Kalamazoo, MI.
Heritage was sold about 5 years ago to a local attorney who plans to continue the brand. Apparently, they're doing it. I saw several new Heritage fiddles at the local boutique shop a few months ago. Nice instruments. I had one years ago, but sold it for reasons that escape me now.
