Dudesweet, liked the vid. I know it was a country gig, but your purple Strat with black pickguard and white pickups and controls is still one of my all time faves.

Thanks man!  It was my first foray in customized guitars and I got exactly what I wanted. I put it together when I was 14 or 15 (I don't remember anymore). It took 2 years of birthday and christmas money and 2 summers of mowing lawns to make happen and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

My current band. I'm on your left in the videos.

Playing Keanu. Sorry about the poor lighting in a couple of these, some of the vids are from a benefit show with three other bands, not our usual setup.

I submit that somebody's wasting their time. I'm pretty sure I've seen worse videos, but I can't remember when. It seems the band was doing a good job, but you'd never know it. You can barely hear them and you can't see them at all. I suspect it's two things: poor camera placement, and a poor camera. I don't mean to be a hateful crank - I'm trying to be constructive - but seriously. That's some pitiful stuff.

Amateur camera operators are often timid about getting good placement. Fact is, most people don't care. They see a camera operator and know they have to give way. You wanna try to be unobtrusive, but you gotta get in front of them. Trying to shoot from 100 miles away never works. Also, when you're in a dark place like a club, you've got to reduce the influence of the stage lights. That's very difficult when 80% of the frame is in darkness and/or 20% is incredibly intense. The camera can't compensate properly. You need to be up in the light, so everything is bright. So, again, get up close. It also helps the sound, if you're counting on the camera's microphone(s).

Tell your camera operator to be more daring. You'll get better clips.

Leave it to Cagey to crack a fart in the middle of church.

No camera operator. Using the Zoom Q3HD for audio and video on a tripod. The newer videos are better. Placement in the club is the issue, anything closer would be setup on a table, and that never works out well. Audio is my main concern, and since the Q3HD is capturing the house sound, off center on the side for a better angle would hurt that.

These videos are mainly for how we sound and to see how the show went, so I'm not hiring a camera man or buying a high dollar setup.

As a subscriber I expect at least 18 cameras - HD - 3D - Surround Sound - and access to deleted scenes. Don't go cheap on us!

EDIT: ... oh I forgot ... and free beer!

I think that's the point of posting live videos.  You'll rarely hear bass and kick drum on YouTube quality videos.  It's not just what they're recorded with, but what they're played back on.

So true. The Q3HD  does a really good job, especially on the audio. YouTube compression does kill it some what, but if you're listening through lap top speakers you will be very disappointed. Try a good set oh headphones, makes a world of difference.

Paging Dr Cagey,... Paging Dr Cagey,... Please report to the YouTube for a patient.  :icon_jokercolor:

We played at another club Saturday night. Setup was different, had a better angle to shoot from.

Enjoy.  :eek:ccasion14:

Hard to tell in the blue stage lights, but looks to me like Keanu's out for a spin!
